Digital Communications Executive
Job description
If you're a bit of a star in the digital design and social media community with an eye for detail, an excellent visual communicator and not afraid to stretch creative boundaries - then we want you.
The Digital Communication Executive is responsible for developing and executing the Council's communications digital strategy through the following channels:
social media, e-newsletters, forums and website whilst also supporting large strategic campaigns.
You will report into the Design and Digital Lead and work collaboratively with the wider digital team and other teams in the organisation to manage and continuously improve our social media presence and communication. You will be responsible for fully managing their end to end campaign needs, including trafficking creatives, testing, reporting, evaluation and optimisation.
The Digital Communication Executive will need to be enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude when approaching tasks while staying on brand.
Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of social media and Adobe Creative Suite. You will be able to show examples of how you have collaborated with others to produce engaging social content for an organisation.
We're looking for a talented person with the creative tenacity and drive to help deliver more of the great comms work that earned us a gold award in 2016 Public Service Communications Awards and silver in 2016 CIPR South West PRide Awards.
The Council is at the heart of efforts to help Swindon punch above its weight: delivering a Vision that includes a massive town centre regeneration programme worth over GBP 500 million.
The Borough is set to grow faster than almost anywhere else in the UK over the next 20 years, which is why we're gearing up now to build new houses, roads and schools.
All the while, we're pulling out the stops to make our resources stretch further whilst finding new ways to continue delivering the myriad of services that our communities rely on.
There's a positive story to tell and a need for outcome-focussed communications, which is why we've created these new roles in our communications team. Supporting service areas across the Council, this role will be responsible for taking the communication strategy for a particular campaign and executing it.
If you know how to put clear objectives and demonstrable impact either side of communications, we'd love to receive your application.
If you would like to find out more about this role please contact Rachel Freegard on 07387 230821.
This role is 37 hours per week.
