Communications Lead: People
Job description
If we had to describe Swindon in a Tweet? How about: "Ambitious, fast growing town giving others a run for their money. UK's 6th most productive economy, 217K residents, countryside surrounds."
The Council is at the heart of efforts to help Swindon punch above its weight: delivering a Vision that includes a massive town centre regeneration programme worth
over GBP 500 million.
The Borough is set to grow faster than almost anywhere else in the UK over the next 20 years, which is why we're gearing up now to build new houses, roads and schools.
All the while, we're pulling out the stops to make our resources stretch further whilst finding new ways to continue delivering the myriad of services that our communities rely on.
There's a positive story to tell and a need for outcome-focussed communications, which is why we've created a new role in our communications team.
In this role you'll oversee the commissioning and delivery of all communications work across Adult and Children's Services, providing trusted strategic advice to Directors, Cabinet Members and Heads of Service on how to achieve their outcomes for residents.
You'll need first class campaign and project management skills, including strategy development and experience evaluating the effectiveness of communications work.
We're looking for talented people with the curiosity, tenacity and drive to help deliver more of the great comms work that earned us a gold award in 2016 Public Service Communications Awards and silver in 2016 CIPR South West PRide Awards.
If you know how to put clear objectives and demonstrable impact either side of communications, we'd love to receive your application.
If you would like to find out more about these roles please contact Sam Mowbray on 07823 525337.
This role is 37 hours per week.
Closing date: 24th January 2017
Interview dates: 1st and 2nd February 2017
